Oil Changes

Oil is the life blood of your vehicle, helping to reduce the accumulation of varnish and carbon from collecting on internal components of the engine. Engine oil gets very hot by helping pull the heat away from many internal parts. The longer the oil is in the engine, the more it degrades, as the additives are used up. Eventually it becomes less liquid and more like sludge over time. On the other hand, even if you don’t drive your car much, you should still get your oil changed twice a year. Oil becomes less effective as it ages, and by not getting the engine warm enough, excess moisture that forms in the engine will not be removed, which can lead to shorter engine life or engine oil leaks.

Remember too, when choosing oil for your vehicle, cheaper can be as catastrophic as missed oil changes. Cheaper oils have wax that builds up on internal components, turning to carbon, which causes premature wear and possible internal failure.
